The brief
Refresh Homes is a painting company in the Niagara Region. Their customers are homeowners on their phones, comparing a few local options and trying to figure out who won't flake on them. The site had to answer "what do they do, can I trust them, how do I get a quote" in about ten seconds.
What I did
- Led with the services, the area they cover, and a dead-simple path to a free estimate.
- Put the trust signals up front — Google reviews, insurance, the drywall and repair work, recent jobs.
- Wrote it for homeowners, not contractors. Plain language, no jargon.
- Built it in Astro.js and hosted it on Netlify so the site stays fast, lightweight, and simple to update.
The interesting part
This is the kind of project I like: a good local business that just looks small online when it isn't. Closing that gap is mostly about clarity and confidence, not big budgets. Astro and Netlify fit the job well: a quick static site, low maintenance overhead, and a deployment setup that keeps the business focused on getting quote requests instead of managing website complexity.
